Select your tree wisely. You will spend the next 3 to 6 months busy up there so you should spend as many days as necessary to ensure your host is the most appropriate in your area. Strong root system, balanced trunk, healthy boughs, absence of hallow or major insects colony, good view, distance to water supply, wildlife proximity... In the forest, you may not necessarily see your tree at first sight. After you climbed a few tall trees, you will have a clearer understanding of the local canopy and most likely discover your tree from the tops!
